An inconvenient apology

An announcement was just made informing the passengers that the elevators at 33rd Street and at WTC stations that take passengers to street level are not operating. They apologized for the inconvenience.

Personally, I think that is just irresponsible and unacceptable. Both elevators are out? How is someone who is handicapped supposed to get home? Or a single mother with a baby stroller? Or an elderly woman with a shopping cart? One of the elevators should always be working and provide at least one means of getting people who are disabled or carrying a stroller or cart to their destination even if it means making transfers.

How “convenient” that both elevators aren’t working after the July 4 pandamonium. I bet you they were working just fine to get people into New York and/or New Jersey to view the fireworks.
