Train congestion

It always baffles me that I can almost always get into the city faster on the weekends than during morning rush hour.
I was sitting on the “F” train at 75th Avenue when the conductor explained there was congestion up ahead at 71st Continental. Then an “E” train wizzes by heading toward 71st & Continental; it did not slow down. That meant we were sitting tight until control center gave us the green light to proceed.
