MTA cutting back

It seems most likely that in order for MTA to meet their budget gap, they are going to lay off transit workers and administrators as well as cut back on some train services and even eliminate unpopular ones.  This is only going to result in more crowding and delays for the near future; and many many angry commuters.  For more information on the MTA’s plans on how they will attempt to meet their budget gap, click here

WIth all this talk about budgets and cutting services, it begs the question, why is MTA wasting money on the 2nd Annual Rider Report Card?  The report card may be informative to Elliot G. Sander, Executive Director and CEO of MTA, and to Howard H. Roberts, Jr., President of MTA NYC Transit, but they won’t be able to implement those improvements because MTA can’t afford it.

And on top of the services cutting back, and overcrowding, and long wait times, the fare is going to increase 8%!
