Recovery at Chambers Street

Just witnessed a group of four MTA Contractors in their hard hats and official bright orange vest pick up remains of a child’s pink tricycle from the tracks after the “A” train was delayed at Chambers Street and then departed when one of the contractors checked out that nothing was lodged at the underside of the train before moving ahead.

That was pretty cool to see the MTA Contractors hard at work. (Seriously, I was impressed.)

What I want to know is how the hell did the tricycle end up on the tracks? Did it accidentally roll onto the tracks? Thank gooness there wasn’t a child’s body in the recovery. And good thing the tricycyle didn’t cause any serious damage to the train and the passengers.
