Service cuts. Delays. Delays. Delays.

A day after the weekend where NYC MTA cut back and changed services, commuters were faced with major delays on the E, F, M, and B trains. Apparently, there was some issue in Brooklyn that required firefighters to investigate, which caused delays coming out of Brooklyn and out of Queens. To add to the delays, the E train that I’m on ended up on the local track due to a sick customer at Queens Plaza. The E train was crowded as it was and for it to go local meant it became even more crowded.

So, this is the utter nonsense that commuters are going to have to put up with.

Now we’re stalled at Northern Boulevard, and people are grumbling. One good thing is the A/C is working.

Update: so the sick passenger was on the express track at Queens Plaza and possibly in the tunnel. We’re in Manhattan after crawling from station to station for 30+ minutes. No doubt that people will be requesting late slips from MTA to give to their bosses.

  1. I heard that there was a fire at Broadway-Lafayette. Yet, there was a firetruck at the Carroll St. stop in Brooklyn. And there are policemen everywhere! What is going on?

  2. I did not see any fire trucks at Broadway-Lafayette when I finally got out. I also want to know what was going on. Maybe it will be reported on the news.

  3. There was a rather large fire at bdwy-lafayette that day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH3MIvO48YE

  4. Thanks but the incident in the video happened after the incident I was writing about.
